OOTE: Obliquity of the Ecliptic

Last night, I had the pleasure of seeing the indomitable Christiane D. perform at the August Wilson Center for the preview of her solo studio album, “Obliquity of the Ecliptic”. It was an amazing performance, by Christiane and all of the performers.
I just listened to the CD version of Beautiful Disaster, one of the songs performed last night. I found it just as compelling as the live version. Christiane has a dark and intense passion to her performance and to her music. The performance last night was no exception.
I have been casting about the intertubes for some recording that I could reference for this post, but all I have been able to find are a couple Soma Mestizo videos. While these are exceptional, I think they are counter indicative of the direction that Christiane is taking with OOTE. Keep your ears open for more announcements on the final release of the solo album; it’s going to be a knockout.
On a personal note, it was so nice to un into so many friends at the performance. I have been absent far to long and that point was driven home very deeply last night. To all of my friends, I’ve missed you.
