Even though the collages are considerably smaller, they take multiple sessions over several days to complete. Which is why even these more experimental works are taking longer to get out of the hopper.

It’s been a really hectic month. I don’t usually post in her about this, but Mum has been having some serious issues with her health this last month. Frankly, Athlete’s foot would set her back at this point (slight exaggeration, dear reader)

Mum has been admitted to the hospital three times in the last few weeks. It’s been harrowing. I haven’t been able to spend much time in the studio lately, but today I just had to put some time in. It was a relief to not only pick up a paint brush but to be able to actually finish a work today.

What Do We Want for The Human Form Show?

This showcases the beauty of the human body. The artistic expression the human body has been an artistic subject throughout history. The artist is encouraged to feature the human body in a meaningful and thoughtful way.

This is an all media show.

The Human Form Show Rules
Deadline for entry forms & fees is Friday, February 24. It is important to have the information in time to enter the program book and for any press releases.

Cost of entry is $10 for the first piece, each successive piece is $5. Each artist may enter up to 12 pieces of artwork. There is an Early Bird Special! Anyone who turn in their entry forms & fees before February 24, 2012 will receive one entry fee waived; two entries required.

The Human Form Show is an all media show.

All artwork must be original!

Artwork of a “mature nature” must be noted. The Underground Gallery may feature mature subject matter, professionalism is to be expected. Nudes are allowed, but we reserve the right to refuse any inappropriate artwork.

The Human Form Show starts March 2 and ends March 23.

Opening night is March 20, at The Art Center. Artists are encouraged to attend the opening night, as prizes and awards are given out.

Please Read: {Important}

All work must be labeled with your name, address, telephone number, email address, title, price & medium. All work must remain on display until the end of the show.

All work must be ready for show. All 2d artwork must be ready to hang with wire or firmly fixed saw tooth hangers All 3d artwork, must sit securely.

Deliver artwork: Any time up to Saturday, February 25, 2012.
Other times can be arranged, but call the Contact Numbers First!

Pickup artwork: March 24, 2012, the Saturday after the end of the show. Unless prior arrangements are made, work not picked up after a month can be charged a $5 fee per week for storage {unless other arrangements are made}. The Art Center practices professional care when handling submitted artwork; but we do not assume responsibility or liability for any artwork including but not limited to accidents, damaged work, or forces of nature.

The Art Center will retain a 20% commission on the sale of member work & 30% commission on the sale of non-member work. (Membership is $40/year please call 724-283-6922 for a membership application).

Each artist is responsible for the shipping & handling of their own work. Judge’s prizes & awards will be announced to winners on Opening Night March 2, 2012 in The Underground Ground. Generally the awards are given are Best in Show, First, Second, Third, and Honorable Mentioned as needed. Prizes will awarded dependent on the number of entries received.
