Kloof Corner is my absolute favourite hiking trail in Cape Town<\/a> \u2013 and I\u2019m not alone! It\u2019s an easy, quick route (relative to its sibling hikes up Table Mountain<\/a>, at least) and the trek is rewarded with some spectacular views. You\u2019ll be looking out over the city bowl, Lion\u2019s Head<\/a>, Camps Bay and the towering Twelve Apostles, all surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the perfect spot to watch the sunset \u2013 or sunrise, if you\u2019re an early bird. And best of all, it\u2019s a hiking trail most people can do, so you can gather up your friends and make the mission.<\/p>\n

The basics<\/h2>\n

Difficulty:<\/b> Easy \u2013 Moderate, with steep sections<\/p>\n

Distance: <\/b>1.5km<\/p>\n

Average time: <\/b>20 \u2013 30 minutes<\/p>\n

Start point:<\/b> Tafelberg Road<\/p>\n

How to get here:<\/b> Follow Tafelberg Road past the first hairpin bend and park at the parking lot on your left. This spot can fill up quick, especially around sunset on a summer day, so you may need to park at the bottom of the road and walk up \u2013 it\u2019ll take you about 10 minutes. There\u2019s a nice clear sign marking the trail\u2019s start.<\/p>\n

Dog-friendly: <\/b>Yes \u2013 as this is part of Table Mountain National Park, dog-walkers are required to have a Level 1 My Activity Permit; however, this is not enforced<\/p>\n
